Employee Recognition: Reminders
for Appreciating Employees
Tip of the Month by Ron Jasniowski
With the hectic pace we operate in,
it can be difficult to remember to take a few moments to catch an employee
doing something right and express appreciation for it. And all too
often we find ourselves needing to deal with negative issues over
and over. Then it gets harder and harder to express appreciation.
Try this: start your day with three
large coins (or tokens) in your pocket. The coins are reminders
to look for someone doing something right and recognize them for
it. As you recognize them, put one coin in the other pocket. You should finish the
day with all your coins in the other pocket. If coins don’t work
for you, try Post-it notes or some sort of reminder token.
Let me know if you notice any improvement in morale

recognition is daily misery."
